to learn of the warrant that's out for his arrest. the 52-year-old coached baseball at a number of schools in oakland from 1999 to 2005. but the batting cages and the video game center here in san leandro, well, i spoke with a business owner next door and here's what he had to say. >> mostly evenings and mornings. but, again, there's usually kids working there. they have kids working there also. teenage teenagers. i've been in there. young high school kids are working in there. but never seen a gentleman. seems pretty dead sometimes and it's packed during the nighttime hours. it's a shock to me. this is insane. >> reporter: he tells me it's been quiet here since the news broke. investigators are not saying whether the victims may have played baseball or not, to protect their identity. a spokesperson for the diocese of oakland this morning which overseas bishop o'dowd high

school says he was a part-time contract coach, not on staff, which means he would have had no other classes on campus where he ran into students. he was just there basically for the games and for practices. and they tell me they're still trying to gather a little bit of information. but he would have passed a background check to work there. police and prosecutors are saying that there may be more victims out there. reporting live in san leandro, christie smith, nbc bay area news. on the peninsula now, extra police are on hand at aragon high school in san mateo this morning because of a threat of violence posted online. the threat was posted anonymously on the facebook confession page yesterday. this is where aragon students go to post problems and then hear back from others about solutions. police are not releasing the exact content of the threat. some parents chose to keep their children out of school today just as a precaution. aragon high school says it is taking the hoax seriously. a teen robbery suspect on the run this morning after attacking two people near

downtown san jose last night. police say a teenaged boy aroec approached a man at 19th street not far from san jose high school. they say he demanded money and stabbed the man. a few minutes later, the same suspect confronted another man three blocks away. the suspect hit that man in the head. both victims were treated for minor injuries. the suspect did manage to escape with some cash. the woman accused of kicking a toddler in golden gate park is back in court this morning. i'll take it from here. sabrina bell was supposed to be arraigned last week but police say she could not appear because she was yelling and screaming in her holding cell. police say bell kicked a young girl in the chest on march 11th, knocking her to the pavement. the girl was not seriously injured. bell also allegedly threatened the young mother at the park. the cyclist accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian in san francisco's castro

district facing felony vehicular manslaughter charges today. prosecutors say he ran multiple red lights and stop signs last year before running into the victim and killing him. this morning, heavy fog may be to blame for an overnight crash that sent two people to the hospital in san francisco. this all happened near west portal muni station. a couple was crossing the street when they were hit by a vehicle. police say the man will be okay. however, the condition of the elderly woman with him remains unknown. police not officially saying at this point if fog was the exact cause of the crash. but they say it did play a role in a number of crashes all around the bay overnight. happening right now, let's just say, let the madness begin. thousands of fans now pouring into hp pavilion as san jose is playing host to the ncaa tournament and a local team right now drawing a lot of support. nbc bay area's bob redell is now joining us live from hp pavilion with all the hoops highlights.

good morning. >> reporter: good morning, jon. these march madness basketball fans sure like to procrastinate. tip-off in five minutes here at the hp pavilion. still quite a lot of people out front. hundreds of people streaming in at the last minute. you've got college teams from the east coast, midwest, southwest, the west coast and of course one right here in the bay area that you were alluding to. you might have caught the blue and gold in the crowd there. fans showing their support for a number 12 seed, cal bears, who later this afternoon will take on the number five seed, unlv. both teams practicing yesterday during a session that was free and open to the public. cal is seeking redemption to make up for a poor showing during last year's ncaa tourney when they were taken out early on. even coach montgomery speaking to us yesterday admitted that they were not mentally prepared at the time. this game against unlv is also

significant because it is a rematch for both teams. the last time cal played the rebels was in december. cal lost by one point. there's a lot of pressure to answer that loss. and speaking to fans this morning, cal fans are hoping for a little payback. >> i was at that game. luck, that was all luck. they went on a good run at the end of the game. cal should have had it. cal was actually off that game, too. >> reporter: what do you think of the vibe today? >> today, this is like a home game for them. they'll have the crowd and i think they'll be ready. >> hope it's just as close a game, except i hope we win this time. >> reporter: you take a look up at your screen and get a rundown of what the games are going to be like tonight. tip-off in four minutes between new mexico and st. louis. at 1:40, oregon and oklahoma state. a lot of oregon fans out here. 4:27, cal tips off against unlv.

the process was top of mind at their press conference. you heard president obama and president abbas make the case that everybody wants a two-state solution. the question is, how do you even get the negotiation started? the president admitted, he said, there's been too much negotiating in order to begin the negotiations. >> one of my main messages today, the same message i'm conveying in israel, is that we cannot give up, we cannot give up on the search for peace, no matter how hard it is. >> reporter: president obama called for no preconditions. he wants everybody to just start

[ applause ] >> reporter: it's back to israel where the premier speech of this trip, an attempt to win over the israeli public. traveling with the president in ramallah, this is chuck todd, nbc news. the president's message of peace, not reaching gaza where palestinian militants fired two rockets at southern israel this morning, causing some damage there. but no reports of injuries. this was at a town near the border. at the time of this rocket attack, president obama was in israel, but he was miles away at the israel museum in jerusalem to see the dead sea scrolls. big changes could be on the way for yosemite.

the national park service is considering a proposal to band bicycle, horse and raft rentals in the park. it's also considering tearing out the ice rink, the art activity center and swimming pools at yosemite lodge and the hotel. the changes are in response to years of lawsuits over what should be allowed in yosemite valley. park officials will discuss this proposal in a public meeting today in san francisco. a bay area man is leading a legal fight to protect the information on your cell phone from police. as it stands, if you are under arrest, police can legally search your phone without obtaining a warrant. but the aclu argues your cell phone is like a home office and police should be required to obtain a warrant. san francisco police arrested community activist bob offer-westort during a peaceful protest. he says he was alarmed when an officer started going through the personal information on his phone.

>> they took my phone out of my pocket and read my text messages. i asked, what are you doing? they said they were reading my messages. i said, i don't consent to that. and they did it anyway. >> the police did not break the law but offer-westort and the aclu have filed a civil lawsuit against san francisco and the police chief saying the search violated his constitutional rights. the san francisco city attorney's office is not commenting on the suit until it has been reviewed. it is a monumental milestone for youtube. youtube says more than 1 billion people now visiting its online video site each and every month to see little guys like this chew on brothers' fingers. youtube crossed the billion user threshold five months after facebook announced its own billion user milestone. that's got to hurt. mountain view-based google bought youtube back for $1.76 billion in 2006 back when unit only had 50 million users

patient's cells. doctors say they are amazed at how quickly it seemed to work, practically reversing one of the patient's disease within a week. while small, researchers say the study offers promise to an otherwise fast-growing deadly disease. still ahead on nbc bay area news, the unusual and heavy punishment given to a middle-schooler that has the teenager's parents speaking out. and also a very popular body spray gets the ax, literally, at a pennsylvania high school. we'll tell you exactly why coming up.

. in colorado, the manhunt continues this morning for the suspect responsible for shooting and killing a state department head right at that victim's front door.

police say tom clements, the head of colorado's department of corrections, was shot to death on his doorstep in an upscale neighborhood just outside of denver on tuesday night. a neighbor telling police they saw a car left running outside that home just minutes before the murder occurred. also police now hoping a woman seen walking in that area around the very same time comes forward with any kind of information. as of now, investigators say there is no motive for this killing, but they are looking into this to see if an ex-con could be to blame. this morning an unusually h hefty punishment has two kentucky parents demanding an explanation for their daughter's treatment at school. ashley owens says she was forced to carry the contents of her entire locker in her backpack for a week. she says her math teacher handed down the punishment after she accidentally erased a student's

name on the blackboard. the backpack weighs about 25 pounds. they have since pulled their daughter out of the school until the matter can be looked into by the superintendent. axe body spray now literally getting the ax at a pennsylvania high school. a student at freedom high in beth he lem had to be taken to the hospital after being exposed to the axe body spray. the student apparently had a severe allergic reaction to the spray. school administrators are now asking students to please stop using axe body spray. meantime, the makers of axe are looking into this report. coming up, the ballpark that beat out at&t park for the best ballpark in the country. we'll tell you next.
